![]() Sound off, if anyone else is having this problem too. My distribution is a heavily customized Manjaro. Let me know if it works for you guys who are still stuck. My existing installed games in the current Origin client (Mass Effect Andromeda and Deadspace 3) are still working, but I can’t download any others. Once it did, I paused the download and reconnected my LAN cable, and it continued to download. I was using the legacy Origin client for my older Mass Effect games because it’s less hassle and it works with older Wine prefixes, but EA is taking that away so I had incentive to try getting my older games working in the newer Origin client. It’s got to be changes to the Origin client that caused this, as it used to work. ![]() I have not been able to solve this, as I don’t know WHY it’s not communicating with the service correctly. ![]() If the service is already running, the error message comes instantly. I can affect it by using the Wine registry editor to set the service start value to disabled (4) and then it sits there until timeout before the error appears. Some Windows users are having this same problem. It seems to be a problem communicating with OriginClientService.exe. After doing all the usual firewall, antivirus, reinstallation, this actually got me past the stupid waiting for permission deal. Under Startup tab in TM, Disable everything. Origin installs and seems to work, until I go to install a game. Under Startup tab, Open Task Manager, or you can open it if you have it pinned to task bar like I do. Please choose “Yes” when Windows prompts you for permission." Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. This issue has been going on for over a month now and Id really just like to play my games, especially since the only reason I cant is that they have updates that need installing. Please choose 'Yes' when Windows prompts you for permission' Please choose 'Yes' when Windows prompts you for permission' Ive tried copying apex legend folder files from another pc and transferring it to my pc, but origin still does not detect it. I am having this problem too, I recently found out that Origin won’t download anything: The only one that I found to work was installing an older version of Origin, downloading updates with that, and then uninstalling it to reinstall and play on the current version. Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission.
